Our ActiveCampaign Review – A Honest Deep Dive
Active Campaign is a robust email tool and there’s several parts to it – some of them you may never even use depending on your use case. So is it worth your time and energy and how can you make the best of it all? Let’s find out:
Broadcasts
Active Campaign recently rebuilt their email editor from scratch so it’s much easier to create great-looking emails that fit your brand – something the service was missing for a LONG time before the much-needed update.
Campaigns
You can build out campaigns in Active Campaign fairly easily. Again, while this used to be complex and hidden in the tool – it’s now become much easier to sort out.
Automations
Automations is where Active Campaign shines. More complex than Convertkit and less confusion than Keap – ActiveCampaign’s automations are visual and easy to follow. You can also make them super complex if you like, but we find the people that perform the best are usually using straight automations effectively – not just building complexity for complexity’s sake.
CRMs
If you’re a business that wants to do a lot of CRM
For most bloggers – however – this is usually considered “overkill” as you’re mostly interested in the sequences, automations and broadcasts – not necessarily moving your contacts through a pipeline.
However, if you’re a part of a sales team – this is one of the features that makes active campaign so attractive.
Active Campaign Verdict
Active Campaign is perfect if you’re looking for a powerful, straightforward email tool with a focus on automations or CRM services. The more you’re likely to use automations and CRMs, the more likely we are to recommend you use Active Campaign as it’s the best in the space for this.
However, if you’re looking to just send normal broadcast emails with the occasional automations – there are possibly better active campaign alternatives out there.
ActiveCampaign Pricing
Active Campaign has tiered pricing based on usage.
For their marketing based pricing – you’ll see the following tiers:
- Lite – $9/month
- Plus – $49/month
- Pro – $149/month
- Enterprise – Call for details
ActiveCampaign has several diferent types of customers, so if you’re looking for CRM or transactional emails, they also have different pricing for that.
